Libba Harmon
I’ve been practicing acupuncture since 2000, when I graduated from Tri State College of Acupuncture in New York City, w/ a B.A. & Master of Science in Acupuncture. In 2014, I opened Pranam Yoga Shala in Omaha, where I sought to weave my passions for acupuncture & Chinese Medicine with the benefits of yoga & healthy movement, breath, & meditation practices.
Having studied (& continue to study) with a vast array of teachers, mentors, healers, styles, & modalities, I bring an eclectic approach to supporting clients. My background includes a wild journey of unexplained back pain as a teenager; which led me into the practices of countless doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, osteopaths, energy healers, DOMs, surgeons, massage & movement therapists. That long journey of pain, sleeplessness, & hopelessness finally culminated in a last ditch effort to discovering a rare spinal tumor. I met many practitioners who had no regard or respect for my experience, while I also encountered many who humbly & intelligently serve & care for their clients with love and respect for their process.
…add to that a long list of injuries from martial arts training, running, playing, & yoga; my experience of pain, dis-ease & healing led me down the path to becoming an acupuncturist.
My Practice
My training, background & experience includes Classical Chinese acupuncture, TCM (Traditional Chinese Acupuncture), microneedling, nanoneedling, cupping therapy, Gua Sha, electric stim and frequency healing, myofascial release, acupuncture for all kinds of pain, fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, & postpartum…. APM (Acupuncture Physical Medicine), trigger point therapy (some call this ‘dry needling’, but I incorporate a far more holistic & effective approach to releasing soft tissue- through the lens of Chinese Medicine, and ah-shi points), I’ve worked with people who have experienced trauma of all kinds, PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, stress & fatigue disorders, thyroid imbalances, & autoimmune disorders. Many people seek treatment & support while undergoing cancer treatments, or healing from surgeries. Many come when their dis-ease is not explainable or diagnosable through a Western lens. Acupuncture can treat complaints that have no name. It never gets old, witnessing the amazing effects of this medicine, how it supports, informs, & reduces symptoms, dis-order & side effects from a myriad of issues that people face today.
Through a radically varied background of healing and movement experiences, (including martial arts, running, yoga, Thai massage, Tui Na, sports, hiking, and a lot of travel to distant places to learn from a wide variety of lineages & healers), I’ve accumulated an amalgam of ways to approach working with others on their journeys. I am filled with gratitude for the abilities to assist & witness people while they navigate their own healing. It is integral to how I walk in the world. It’s my calling, and it heals & teaches me!
