Tirzepatide: Starting at $460/month with office injections available

FDA-approved in March of 2022 as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes melitus. Tirzepatide injection is a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor and glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1).

In comparative head-to-head trials, Tirzepatide surpassed Semaglutide's HbA1c reduction by an additional 24%. According to data from Phase 3 trial results in type 2 diabetic patients, Tirzepatide was non-inferior and was superior to Semaglutide with respect to the mean change in HbA1c from baseline to 40 weeks.

At all doses, Tirzepatide (5mg, 10mg, 15mg) also outperformed Semaglutide (1mg) in body weight reductionafter 40 weeks. At 5mg, up to 80% of users achieved at least a 5% (15lb) reduction in body weight; at 10mg, 45% reached a 10% (20lb) reduction: and at 15mg, up to 36% of users achieved at least a 15% (25lb) reduction in body weight compared to Semaglutide users' 54% 24% and 8%, respectively.

Weight loss from baseline to after 40 treatment weeks revealed that Tirzeatide (5mg, 10mg, 15mg) offered at least 30%, 60% and up to 95% greater weight loss, respectively vs. Semaglutide 1mg.

Impact of Tirzepatide

As a GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, Tirzepatide is a 39-amino-acid modified peptide with a C20 fatty diacid moiety that enables albumin binding and prolongs the half-life. Tirzepatide selectivley binds to and activates the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, then targets for native GIP and GLP-1.

At therapeutic doses, it acts on the brain and suppresses appetite. Used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise, Tirzepatide helps patients adhere to a reduced-calorie diet, enhancing the weight loss process.

Semaglutide: Starting at $420/month with office injections available

Approved in 2021 by the FDA for chronic weight management in obese/overweight adults, this injection has been described as a "life changing!"

According to data from several major universities in America, more than 50 percent of trial participants lost 15 percent of their body weight, and nearly 40 percent lost 20 percent of their body weight.

Impact of Semaglutide:

Part of a class of medications known as GIP-1receptor agonist, Semaglutide increases insulin secretion, which is good for diabetics. When used in higher doses, it acts on centers in the brain -suppresses appetite. Used in conjunction with diet and exercise, Semaglutide helps patients stick to a reduced calorie diet, enhancing the weight loss experience.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Month 1: 0.25 mg (0.1 mL) once weekly
  • Month 2: 0.5 mg (0.2 mL) once weekly
  • Month 3: 1.0 mg (0.4 mL) once weekly
  • Month 4: 1.75 me (0.7mL) once weekly
  • Month 5: 2.5 mg (1 mL) once weekly

Injectable Semaglutide can be taken with or without food. You can change the day of the week as long as last dose was given 2 or more days prior.

Here are some of the potential benefits of using semaglutide:

Lowering blood sugar levels: Semaglutide can help to lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes, which can reduce the risk of complications such as nerve damage, kidney damage, and blindness.

Weight loss: Semaglutide has been shown to promote weight loss in people with type 2 diabetes. This may be due to the fact that semaglutide slows down the digestion of food, which can make you feel fuller for longer.
Cardiovascular benefits: Semaglutide has been shown to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in people with type 2 diabetes. This may be because semaglutide helps to reduce inflammation and improve blood vessel function.
Convenience: Semaglutide can be taken once a week, which may be more convenient for some people than other diabetes medications that require more frequent dosing.
It's important to note that semaglutide may not be appropriate for everyone, and it may have some side effects. If you or a loved one is considering Semaglutide, please contact Simply Bliss Med Spa & Wellness to schedule a consultation with one of our expert practitioners.

Contrave: $120-$160

Contrave is a prescription weight loss medication that combines two active ingredients, naltrexone and bupropion, to help reduce appetite and control cravings. Here are some potential benefits of using Contrave:

Weight loss: Clinical trials have shown that people who take Contrave lose more weight than those who take a placebo. The amount of weight loss varies from person to person, but on average, people taking Contrave lose about 5% of their starting weight over 12 weeks.

Improved health: Losing weight can help improve several health conditions, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. By helping people lose weight, Contrave can help improve their overall health and reduce the risk of developing these conditions.
Reduced cravings: Bupropion, one of the active ingredients in Contrave, is an antidepressant that is also used to help people quit smoking. It works by reducing cravings for food, as well as for cigarettes.

Appetite suppression: Naltrexone, the other active ingredient in Contrave, is used to treat alcohol and opioid addiction. It works by blocking the effects of certain brain chemicals that contribute to cravings and addiction. In Contrave, naltrexone is used to help reduce appetite and control cravings.
Improved mood: Bupropion, one of the active ingredients in Contrave, is also used as an antidepressant. It can help improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression.
It's important to note that Contrave is not a magic pill for weight loss, and it should be used as part of a comprehensive weight loss plan that includes a healthy diet and exercise. As with any medication, it may also have potential side effects, so it's important to discuss the potential risks and benefits with a healthcare provider before starting Contrave.

It can help weight loss by decreasing your hunger or making you feel full longer. Phentermine belongs to a class of drugs called “anorectics,” also known as appetite suppressants. Taking phentermine helps suppress your appetite, thereby limiting how many calories you eat. Over time, this can lead to weight loss. While the exact mechanisms behind the appetite-reducing effects of phentermine remain unclear, the drug is thought to act by increasing neurotransmitter levels in your brain. Neurotransmitters are your body’s chemical messengers and include norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. When your levels of these three chemicals increase, your feeling of hunger decreases. However, you may build a tolerance to the appetite-suppressing effects of phentermine, in that case, you should not increase your dose of the drug but stop using it altogether. *must meet with one of our APRNs to see if you qualify for this prescription.
